Management Team Steven E. Schroeder, Executive Vice President, Risk Management (Co-Founder)
Prior to CoreLogic, Schroeder held a California state Department of Housing and Finance position where he was responsible for conducting economic impact studies of home financing and evaluating homebuyer and foreclosure behaviors. He then worked as national sales manager, database marketing, for Transamerica Intellitech, where he helped establish Transamerica's data licensing and direct mail marketing lead program. Schroeder's passion for listening and interacting with customers on a personal level has given him unique insight into the mortgage lending industry, helping First American CoreLogic develop innovative customer-centric solutions and mesh them seamlessly with client corporate policies and IT infrastructures. Schroeder serves on the Mortgage Bankers Association Legal and Regulatory Compliance Committee and speaks frequently at MBA and industry conferences.
Kraig Clark, Executive Vice President (Co-Founder)
Prior to First American CoreLogic, Clark was assistant controller at OEA Aerospace and an accountant at Packard Bell. Clark received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from California State University, Sacramento. He is currently completing his MBA thesis.
Cary Mark, Vice President, Information Technology
Prior to joining First American CoreLogic, Mark was part of a startup company later acquired by Apple Computer, Inc. As director of engineering, Mark's pre- and post-acquisition responsibilities included building and leading the development, quality assurance, implementation, project management, and documentation teams. During his subsequent 10-year tenure with Transamerica Intellitech—culminating as vice president of engineering—Mark helped grow the company's revenues from a few million dollars to more than $30 million through new product development and acquisition. Mark received his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Electronics Technology from DeVry Institute of Technology. He later received leadership and management training at the University of Washington Business School and Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California.
Anthony N. Romano, III, Executive Vice President, Sales
Prior to First American CoreLogic, Romano worked for CustomerLink Systems, Inc., a customer relationship management (CRM) company in Roseville, California, he co-founded in 2000. Responsible for CustomerLink's funding and business development, Romero raised over $13 million in venture capital and helped build a successful company that continues to operate profitably today. Previously, Romano was vice president of sales for International Business Systems (IBS), a publicly traded provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) and CRM technology, which he helped grow from $70 million in revenues to over $300 million during a seven-year tenure. Romano began his career in sales and marketing with IBM, where he was an early member of IBM North America's Integrated Marketing Group. Romano graduated from California State University, Sacramento, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
Andrew Battistessa, Vice President, Capital Markets
Prior to his current assignment, Battistessa was responsible for initiating and building First American CoreLogic's capital markets business unit, which now serves many leading Wall Street firms involved in the loan securitization business.
Pete Kreiser, Director of Marketing
Prior to First American CoreLogic, Kreiser worked as director of marketing and business development at Integres, a supply chain technology company, where he was responsible for all aspects of marketing, in addition to partner acquisition and growth. He also created the company's online business, which successfully targeted the small business market. Before that, Kreiser spent 10 years at United Airlines in various marketing roles, including director of marketing for United Airline's $1 billion cargo business, director of Star Alliance for United's information technology group, and brand manager of alliances—where he led development of the Star Alliance brand. He served four years on the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) Marketing Advisory Board, reporting to the USPS CMO and Deputy Post Master on marketing strategy. He is an active member of the American Marketing Association. Kreiser graduated magna cum laude from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
Mark Fleming, PhD, Chief Economist
Prior to First American CoreLogic, Fleming worked for Fannie Mae, developing property valuation models designed to drive collateral assessment applications used in mortgage origination, quality control, and loss mitigation. He has published research on spatial econometrics and presented at many international conferences. Fleming graduated from Swarthmore College with a BA in economics and holds MS and PhD degrees in agricultural and resource economics from the University of Maryland.
